This policy explains how Contraverse Inc. (“Contraverse”, “we”, “us”), based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, handles personal information collected through this website and through our bookkeeping software.
What we collect
When you contact us, we receive the details you send, such as your name, email address and the content of your message. We use them only to reply to you and to keep a record of our conversation.
Our bookkeeping software
Our bookkeeping software connects to business bank and credit card accounts through Plaid. When an account is connected, we receive account and transaction data from Plaid.
- We use this data only to record, categorize and reconcile the business's books and to prepare reports for its accountants.
- Our access is read-only. The software cannot move money or make payments.
- We don't sell this data, and we don't share it with anyone for their own use.
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to it requires multi-factor authentication.
Plaid's handling of your information is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
Retention
We keep financial records for as long as Canadian tax law requires. We keep other personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for.
Your rights
We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows.
